Best TFT Comps for Patch 14.19 (Set 12)
Welcome to our article where we cover the best TFT team comps for the current patch. My name is Alan and I’ve peaked Challenger in multiple TFT sets. Our team constantly works with top players like Clement Chu to analyze the meta and compile the best comps.
We’re about halfway through Set 12 now, and patches continue to shake up the meta. Overall, this patch isn’t a major one, so most things are the same from last patch.
Even still, there are some notable changes to our tiers.
If you haven’t checked out the new Set info, be sure to check our out all-in-one TFT Set 12 Reveal Page.
Be sure to check out our fully updated Tier List for the most up to date look at the meta. You can also check out our Stats page to see what comps are performing well across all players.

S-tier: Arcana Archer (Varus Arcana)
Team Comp Description:
This comp uses a wild mix of different traits with Arcana to backup your main carries Varus and Tahm Kench!
S-tier: Faerie Tale (Faerie Kalista)
Team Comp Description:
This comp uses a full Faerie team with Kalista and Katarina as your main damage carries and Rakan as your core tank!
S-tier: Warriors (Warrior Reroll)
Team Comp Description:
This comp rerolls for Katarina and Akali before building into Warrior 6 with an Emblem on Morgana.
S-tier: Monkey D. Jinx (Jinx Wukong Reroll)
Team Comp Description:
This team comp rerolls for Jinx as the main damage carry and Wukong as the main tank. The rest of the comp uses Hunters and Preservers to empower Jinx and keep Wukong alive.
S-tier: Zig-Zap Attack (Blitzcrank Hero Augment)
Team Comp Description:
This comp is build around 3-starring Blitzcrank and Ziggs as your Honeymancy carries! You should also play this with the Augment called “Zap Attack”!
S-tier: God of Eldritch (Vertical Eldritch)
Team Comp Description:
This Eldritch team comp rerolls for Ashe, Elise, Syndra, and Nilah. The extra star levels will further buff up the Eldritch Summon, making this a good way to play Eldritch vertical.
S-tier: Spin to Win (Wukong Hero Augment)
Team Comp Description:
This team comp uses Wukong’s Hero Augment which turns him into a carry unit as well. For this board, we have the Preserver and Incantor units to provide him extra healing and strong backline damage with units like Karma and Milio.
S-tier: Fantastic 4’s (4-Cost Flex)
Team Comp Description:
This team comp uses a variety of 4-cost carrys to give you great flexibility. Depending on what you hit, you can itemize different champions first, and eventually itemize all of the carrys.
At a base level, this team comp is strong because it uses a lot of high-cost units.
S-tier: Kalista and Friends (Kalista 5-Cost Board)
Team Comp Description:
This team comp is a potential “fast 9” team comp that uses many 5-cost units to create a powerful board. Kalista is still the main carry to help you reach level 9.
Once you hit level 9, you can then add powerful units like Briar, Morgana, and Camille to become additional carrys.
S-tier: Runic Portals (Vertical Portal)
Team Comp Description:
This team comp is a vertical Portal team comp, with Ryze as the main carry and Taric as the main tank. Nami is your secondary carry, and Norra helps you further strengthen the late game.
Diana is also a great frontline unit to have, especially with a Portal Emblem.
S-tier: Pyro Blasts (Pyro Smolder)
Team Comp Description:
This team comp is a fairly straightforward Pyro team comp using all the Pyro units along with the Blaster trait for the backline. Shyvana activates Dragon for Smolder and also Shapeshifter for Nasus.
Shen and Taric provide more frontline with the Bastion trait, and you can even try to fit Norra in as well for Portal (3). Smolder will be even stronger with a Pyro Emblem, but the comp still works without it.
S-tier: White Walkers (Vertical Frost)
Team Comp Description:
This is a vertical Frost team comp that funnily enough uses Varus as one of the main carrys (Pyro). Olaf is your main Frost/frontline carry, and Twitch provides the Hunter trait.
Hwei activates Blaster for Varus, and Shen activates Pyro/Bastion for Varus/Diana respectively.
S-tier: Frost Bolts (Frost Reroll)
Team Comp Description:
This comp uses a full Frost team with your 3-costs Hwei and Swain who you all want to 3 star on level 7 and Olaf as your AD carry!
A-tier: Wolverine (Warwick Reroll)
Team Comp Description:
This comp is build around Warwick with the Artifact item “Corrupt Vampiric Scepter” which turns him into an absolute carry monster!
A-tier: Honey Hunters (Kog’Maw Reroll)
Team Comp Description:
This team comp uses Kog’Maw and Tristana as dual backline carrys. You also will reroll for Nunu and Rumble as your main tanks. This lets you flex into a variety of traits as Rumble is a 3-trait unit.
A-tier: Pegasus (Hecarim Reroll)
Team Comp Description:
This comp is built around Hecarim with his Multistriker friends and Arcana to make him solokill half of the enemy team in a matter of seconds!
A-tier: Chrono Kong (Chrono Wukong)
Team Comp Description:
Like the above comp, this team comp uses Wukong as the main tank to stall the fight. With this time, Kalista will scale with Guinsoo’s Rageblade to deal massive damage to enemy teams.
A-tier: Chrono Chaos (Chrono Preserver)
Team Comp Description:
This team comp uses Karma as a traditional 4-cost carry and Rakan as the main tank. This team comp provides flexibility to the Witchcraft/Incantor cores. For example, if you find Fiora, you can try to play 6 Withcraft instead.
A-tier: Mage Maniacs (Veigar/Vex Reroll)
Team Comp Description:
This comp uses Veigar and Vex as dual reroll carrys; one for the frontline, and one for the backline. Instead of going vertical into an Origin trait, this comp goes up to Mage 5, with flexible additions late game such as Tahm Kench and Xerath.
A-tier: Sugar Cake (Vertical Sugarcraft)
Team Comp Description:
This team comp uses Jinx as the main carry of a vertical Sugarcraft team comp. Getting the trait online early to start building up Sugar is vital for maintaining a strong board throughout the game.
A-tier: Firenova-Shifters (Varus/Nasus Shapeshifters)
Team Comp Description:
This comp uses a full Shapeshifter team with Varus and Smolder as your main damage carries and Nasus as your core tank!
A-tier: Multistrikers (Kassadin Reroll)
Team Comp Description:
This is a straightforward vertical Multistriker comp, with Kassadin, Ashe, and Jax as the main reroll targets. Kalista also is a nice backline carry to itemize once you find her.
The comp finally caps out with Camille, but rerolling and leveling up to 9 can be difficult if you don’t play the lobby well.
A-tier: The Witchers (Vertical Witchcraft)
Team Comp Description:
This team comp is a vertical Witchcraft comp revolving around Fiora and Karma as the main carrys. A Witchcraft Emblem will be ideal for this comp to buff up Karma and reach Witchcraft 6 while still fitting in other traits.
A-tier: Molten Caramel (Rumble Hero Augment)
Team Comp Description:
Up next, we have the team comp for Rumble’s Hero Augment: Molten Caramel. You reroll for both Rumble and Tristana as your two carrys.
Then you fill out the board with strong traits to buff these two units.
A-tier: Arcana Mayhem (Bill Gates Team Comp)
Team Comp Description:
This team comp is a Fast 9 board using the core of Ryze, Nami, Tahm Kench, and Tariq. With Arcana 4, we’re able to buff up the team a lot, and the team uses a lot of strong units to carry the fight.
A-tier: Ez H-Win (Ezreal Hwei Reroll)
Team Comp Description:
This comp focuses on your 3-costs Ezreal, Hwei and Mordekaiser who you all want to 3 star on level 7!
B-tier: Deja Vu (Galio Hero Augment)
Team Comp Description:
This team comp uses the Hero Augment “Deja Vu” to turn Galio into the main carry of the team comp. Do not go for this comp if you don’t have the Deja Vu Augment.
This turns Galio into a ranged carry instead of a melee tank. We then have other Vanguards to build a strong frontline while Galio ramps up.
B-tier: Witchy Wallop (Poppy Hero Augment)
Team Comp Description:
This team comp uses the Hero Augment “Witchy Wallop” to turn Poppy into the main carry of the team. Zoe will be another unit to reroll for as she’s also a 1-cost Witchcraft unit.
B-tier: Sweet Tooth (Nunu Hero Augment)
Team Comp Description:
Once again, we have another team comp that uses a Hero Augment. Sweet Tooth turns Nunu into a melee carry, and we reroll for Kog’Maw alongside him.
Veigar activates Honeymancy (3), and we use the other team slots to activate the Hunter and Bastion trait.
B-tier: Fire & Ice (Nomsy Twitch Reroll)
Team Comp Description:
This comp uses a Shapeshifter frontline with a Hunter backline with Nomsy and Twitch as your carries who you want to 3 star.
B-tier: Scholar School (Ryze Carry)
Team Comp Description:
Up next, we have a traditional 4-cost carry with Ryze. For this comp, we have the Scholar trait as the main focus, with Preservers and Bastions to fill out the frontline.
The main issue with this comp is the lack of additional carrys until you find Milio.
B-tier: Scholar Stars (Reroll Scholar)
Team Comp Description:
This team comp uses Lillia, Poppy, and Zoe as the main reroll carrys. Ahri further empowers the team comp with her High Arcana trait. The rest of the team uses Scholars to buff up Zoe and Bastions for the frontline.
B-tier: Two Tanky (Cassiopeia Shapeshifters)
Team Comp Description:
B-tier: High Horsepower (Lillia Hero Augment)
Team Comp Description:
This comp uses Lillia’s Hero Augment to turn her into a strong single target damage carry. The frontline consists of a strong 6 Bastion, stalling the fight for Kalista to ramp up.
B-tier: Spider Queen (Elise Hero Augment)
Team Comp Description:
This team comp uses the “Spider Queen” Hero Augment to turn Elise into the main carry. For this comp, we have Shapeshifters for the frontline, with Varus and Smolder for additional backline damage.
Lastly, Nomsy activates Dragon 3 to further buff up Shyvana and Smolder. You can reroll for other 1-cost units like Jayce and Nomsy, but Elise is the priority.
B-tier: Cassyndra (Cassiopeia/Syndra Reroll)
Team Comp Description:
This comp is build around the 2-cost Incantor champions Cassiopeia who you want to 3 star at level 6 alongside a beefy Shapeshifter frontline!
Methodology
We evaluate compositions based on 3 key factors:
- Consistency: How well does this comp perform from game to game and how reliably can you build towards it given a reasonable start?
- Overall strength: If you do successfully complete the comp, how does it match up against other comps, especially those most prevalent in the meta?
- Flexibility: Can you make tweaks and adjustments to the comp while events unfold differently in game? These events include item luck, roll luck, and enemy units.
The combination of these three factors allows us to define team compositions as S, A, or B. The ones that have all three will lean toward S, those that are pretty good but may be lacking in some areas will lean towards B.
