How To Play and Unlock Xayah in Swarm
Xayah is the final champion on the list of champions you can unlock and play on Swarm. Swarm is a new game mode that will be released by Riot in mid-July as a part of their Summer Event. In this game mode, you can play as one of 9 different champions, including Jinx, Seraphine, Aurora, Illaoi, Leona, Xayah, Yasuo, Riven and Briar.
She is one of the harder champions to unlock in this game mode, and it can be pretty time-consuming to unlock her due to specific circumstances needed to unlock her, however, we will break them down shortly. We have been working on guides for each champion in Swarm. Head over to the Mobalytics Blog for more.
How to Unlock Xayah in Swarm
If you want to unlock Xayah, you must have previously completed the main storyline and unlocked the hard mode. Unfortunately, it is only possible to unlock Xayah if you have already done this. Once you have unlocked this mode, you need to complete a total of 20 belveth missions and trials. This is by far the hardest and most grind-intense champion to unlock, so good luck with doing so. It can be quite tricky when you are playing with randoms as well.
Xayah Swarm Abilities
Each champion in Swarm has a Passive and 2 abilities. Aurora unlocks her E at level 3, and her Ultimate at level 6.
Xayah’s Swarm Spells
Xayah’s Passive is called Battle Bat Engage. This spell gives her enhanced pickup range for XP and gold. Any damage the daggers do also go through enemies, so it’s similar to her feathers in LoL. When she collects 200 drops, she buffs herself.
Xayah’s E is called Bladecaller. Bladercaller calls all the daggers around her to come to her. They root and deal damage to all enemies they come into contact with.
Xayah’s Ultimate is Bladestorm. She leaps in the air, becomes ghosted and untargetable. She then rains down a ton of dagger.
Augments and Upgrades
Weapon upgrades will be your go-to for Xayah. Like many other champions in this game mode, getting weapon upgrades will help you in the long run. Getting good weapons that deal a lot of AOE damage is really helpful on Xayah. If you can’t get any early weapons, use re-rolls or upgrade your projectile numbers.
If you are not able to get projectiles or weapons, then upgrade your E or get stat upgrades, such as ability haste (as it will benefit your weapons when you get them), or anything that can increase your damage output.
Xayah Swarm Tips and Tricks
I will now discuss some tips and tricks to help you play and unlock Xayah in Swarm.
I would highly advise that if you want to unlock Xayah then you do it in solo play. I found it more time-consuming and quite rare to complete the Bel’Veth missions in multiplayer. For instance, the mission where you stay in the circle- I would always have the random allies walking out of the zone for no reason.
You can use your Ultimate to jump over/ dodge incoming balls or get past walls of enemies. You can then also use your E straight after your Ultimate to get a ton of additional feathers. This will help keep you alive, escape damage, and also make clearing the enemies easier.
